Remember,

Professionals built the Titanic!
Photobucket Over at Lumberjocks when you post one of your projects you receive feed back from other Lumberjocks. For me this was a vital part of my woodworking journey. Not only do you start to feel as if you know these people, you end up really looking forward to what they have to say about your projects whether you receive constructive criticism or you get compliments, which for me has been a great ego booster and allowed me to be able to feel alright about posting my woodwork and making this blog about it. Martin the creator of Lumberjocks has added a way to place links of your posts on your personal blog. So I am now going to place the link to the items that I have posted here AND at Lumberjocks so that if you wish to click on it, you will see what other Lumberjocks have said about my particular project. If you are a woodworker and have not joined Lumberjocks yet, this may just be the push you need when you read the wonderful comments from this great group of people! And if you do join, please tell them Allison sent ya!

About me

1/10/2005

I am a woman, a mother, a grandma to a 6 year old boy, and I am granny to a 3 year old girl and her 2 year old brother. I was raised in a big city in southern Ca, and had always envisioned myself living by the ocean. However dear friends," and I do mean dear friends" found this little mountain town by accident with a population of around 800 people at the time and myself and late husband followed. It took no longer than one night here for me to know this is where I would spend the rest of my life. 29 years later and a population now of nearly 2000, there still is not a stop light, or a Wal-Mart. I do not have the tallest pine tree in town in my background but I just might have the one with the biggest circumference. I walk right across the road into the woods , living in the last house on this road, my home is heated by wood, and it's a little ironic that it took me so long in life to find the pure joy I have found in creating something made of wood. So if you are reading this perhaps you may understand I am simple. I would say I have probably stronger convictions on certain things and I believe this is due to the fact I am not living a fast , crazy, rushed, life. I am a firm believer that those "with the most toys " do NOT win!
PEACE!!!
I thought for the fun of it I would share this that I did on a Quiz of "What my name means"

What Allison Means

You are usually the best at everything ... you strive for perfection.

You are confident, authoritative, and aggressive.

You have the classic "Type A" personality.

You are relaxed, chill, and very likely to go with the flow.

You are light hearted and accepting. You don't get worked up easily.

Well adjusted and incredibly happy, many people wonder what your secret to life is.

You tend to be pretty tightly wound. It's easy to get you excited... which can be a good or bad thing.

You have a lot of enthusiasm, but it fades rather quickly. You don't stick with any one thing for very long.

You have the drive to accomplish a lot in a short amount of time. Your biggest problem is making sure you finish the projects you start.

You are the total package - suave, sexy, smart, and strong.

You have the whole world under your spell, and you can influence almost everyone you know.

You don't always resist your urges to crush the weak. Just remember, they don't have as much going for them as you do.

You are well rounded, with a complete perspective on life.

You are solid and dependable. You are loyal, and people can count on you.

At times, you can be a bit too serious. You tend to put too much pressure on yourself.

You are very intuitive and wise. You understand the world better than most people.

You also have a very active imagination. You often get carried away with your thoughts.

You are prone to a little paranoia and jealousy. You sometimes go overboard in interpreting signals.

About this Blog

1/09/2005

This blog is of my workings with wood. I am going to try to show what I have learned and perhaps help others and above and beyond that I want to even learn more. I truly enjoy this new found love of mine. I may joke a lot and kid around, however I do take this venture very seriously. I love what I have learned and I really love the people who have helped me a long the way. The first goes to a man named Travis who has a blog called Scrollsaw goodies. He is at http://scrollsawgoodies.blogspot.com I have found so much information from him that I never would have found on my own. He does the leg work. And then there is Lumberjocks. There are no words to describe what I have learned through this wonderful community. When I learn how to sell items,( meaning pay pal, etc.) I will be offering patterns for scroll work and intarsia. That will be coming a little later. Thanks for stopping in. My name is Allison (Alley) of wood-alley. PEACE!!!

Since you are here, why not check out my older posts by simply clicking "Older Posts" above, and on the right side bar is my curiosity poll, which only requires one click. I really am interested in finding out what the male/female ratio of visitors are on a woodworking site!
Thanks and Peace
