Photobucket Over at Lumberjocks when you post one of your projects you receive feed back from other Lumberjocks. For me this was a vital part of my woodworking journey. Not only do you start to feel as if you know these people, you end up really looking forward to what they have to say about your projects whether you receive constructive criticism or you get compliments, which for me has been a great ego booster and allowed me to be able to feel alright about posting my woodwork and making this blog about it. Martin the creator of Lumberjocks has added a way to place links of your posts on your personal blog. So I am now going to place the link to the items that I have posted here AND at Lumberjocks so that if you wish to click on it, you will see what other Lumberjocks have said about my particular project. If you are a woodworker and have not joined Lumberjocks yet, this may just be the push you need when you read the wonderful comments from this great group of people! And if you do join, please tell them Allison sent ya!

Worm in the apple- Intarsia

12/18/2007

I am so excited about this project that here is a picture of it and it is not even finished! I am sooo happy with the outcome so far. It still needs a tongue put in it's mouth but actually I think it looks fine without one. However I am going to put one in. So here is a picture of it now and when I finish it I will post it then also. Matter of fact I have decided that this will be a Christmas present for a very dear friend of mine, and if I don't get it done in time for Christmas it probably won't matter to her as I don't think she has ever received a Christmas or her birthday present in a timely matter and I know that's so awful but she knows me and she probably even understands that things work out better for me if I am not pressured by a date bless her heart! And it's kinda funny cuz I don't even have to worry about her seeing this as she actually held out longer than I did when it came to learning about the computer. I got the pattern from another friend of mine along with a couple other cute ones but she does not know who made them sooo if you know who designed these I would love to know for 2 reason's, #1 would be to properly acknowledge him or her pattern and #2 would be that I would love to see some more of their work. So if you do know I sure would appreciate you passing it along to me.Thanks!
PEACE!!! Allison
This is what I decided to do with him. I put him on a mirror added his tongue and called him done. I finished him day before yesterday. December 8th 2007. I really like him! I hope my girlfriend likes this and yet I am sure she will, and I really don't have an excuse for not being to get it to her by Christmas!

The Grinning Gator- Segmentation

12/13/2007

The "Grinning Gator" is what Deborah Nicholson has named this pattern, of which is in the March 2007 issue of Creative Wood works and Crafts. I made this gator for my father for Christmas last year, and I had sooo much fun making it that when his was done I turned right around and made one for myself. As you can see my father's is outside of his home in southern ca. Mine however would be covered in snow yet I guess it would be quite the visual for spring to have an alligator emerge from the snow in Pinetown Ca. So since I did make myself one I had no clue what to do with it and then the answer was given to me when my coat rack at my house busted. I just hung up the gator and put some hooks below it and I now call it my coat rack! Wa! La!

Thanks and Peace
